This project is a rebranding proposal for Myrtle Ave Brooklyn Partnership which is a business improvement district (BID) located at the northwestern of Brooklyn, NY. It’s a non-profit organization aiming to foster an inclusive and diverse community by connecting local neighbors to various resources and opportunities.






Extinction Theories

Art book editorial

20,000 years after the human extinction, future archaeologists attempt to try to solve the mysteries of human civilization through limited clues: the few artifacts left behind. In the form of interview transcripts, this book reveals the possible reasons behind the extinction through conversations centered around three hypotheses supported by the artifacts.






BatterE-Bar

Packaging design

Energy bar packaging designed with battery as a metaphor. This project treats our human bodies as industrial products. Most technological products need to be charged. If the human body is the most sophisticated machinery, how do we charge them physically and mentally?

Turning the election experience from an “itimidating test” into an “upbeat video game” through an experimental election app, thus turning the passive into the active.


DECO Art Festival  

Branding

DECO is an art festival that embraces modernity in the spirit of the art deco movement. We are dedicated to adorning the world with the transformative power of art and design, embracing contemporary thought at the intersection of tradition and innovation. In this project, we created a modular visual system for DECO by abstracting traditional Art Deco elements and applying it to a variety of media. This is a group project. I came up with the overall visual system and did the brand assets and the animation.






MOAST Music Festival

Branding

Not all music lovers appreciate those crazy and jam-packed outdoor music festivals, but they still long for a chance to enjoy and share music with people who have the same interest. MOAST (Music+Toast) is a festival for such music lovers, dedicated to providing a more comfortable and elegant environment for them to experience music performance and communication. The overall style is modern and minimalist, rather than complex and busy. The visuals convey a simple and relaxed feeling to the user while retaining the rhythm and spirit of the music. With the  orange semicircle as the primary character, it turns figurative into conceptual, thus conveying the brand's objectives and values poetically.

TASTALE (Taste+Tale) is a seasoning brand that develops its products inspired by famous stories. The brand uses great quality ingredients to create organic and healthy sauces that bring accessible deliciousness to people. The brand strategy we came up with is to highlight the features and values of our products by rewriting or retelling famous literature or fairy tales.

BeetleTree Typeface

Typeface design

A font family contains upper and lower case latin letters, numbers, and common symbols and punctuations, in both regular and bold. As the name implies, BeetleTree is inspired by beetles and the natural environment in which they live.
